For 8 years now – Mathmos has relied on RHIEM’s quality
Mathmos Ltd. is visiting RHIEM Services GmbH to review the successful B2C fulfillment processes that have been in place at RHIEM since 2018 and to further expand their partnership for the European D2C business.
We at RHIEM Services recently had the pleasure of welcoming Cressida Granger, Henry Currer, and Cindy Nunn from Mathmos Ltd. to our facility in Voerde.
Mathmos is a British design and lighting company with a truly iconic history. The company was founded in 1963 by Edward Craven Walker, the inventor of the original lava lamp. To this day, Mathmos continues to manufacture its original lava lamps in the United Kingdom and is known for combining design tradition, quality, and a unique product experience.
Since 2018, RHIEM Services has been supporting Mathmos with B2C fulfillment for lava lamps throughout Europe. The partnership is based on reliable and customized operational processes, close coordination, and a clear understanding of the specific requirements of Mathmos products.
During the visit, the teams discussed their existing collaboration, current fulfillment processes, and further opportunities to improve efficiency. Particular emphasis was placed on the handling of Mathmos’s delicate products. Lava lamps require careful packaging, precise process documentation, and consistent execution to ensure that every order arrives safely and in good condition at the end customer.
For this reason, the fulfillment setup includes highly customized packaging guidelines that are specifically tailored to the product line. These guidelines help ensure that every order is prepared, packaged, and shipped in accordance with Mathmos’ quality requirements.
Another key topic discussed during the joint project review was performance during peak season. The Christmas shopping season, in particular, is of great importance to Mathmos, as lava lamps are popular gift items. Reliable fulfillment, stable capacity, and efficient shipping processes are therefore crucial to ensuring that customers across Europe receive their orders on time.
