Together with representatives from politics and business, NRW Minister of Economic Affairs Mona Neubaur took a look at the development of the RHIEM Group. The tour focused on the various service areas, from packaging and fulfillment to web stores.

The Minister was invited by the SME and Economic Union under the title “Successful path of a Voerde company: from a print shop to a global service provider”. It was precisely this development that became tangible during the visit: From its roots as a printing company, a broad-based group of companies has emerged in Voerde, which today offers a wide range of services for industry, trade and consumers. “Afterwards, you will see packaging with completely different eyes,” explained Ulrich Treiber, Managing Director of RHIEM Packaging & Print GmbH, in his welcoming address, referring to the technical possibilities and variety of modern packaging solutions.

During the tour of the company premises, the group of visitors gained an insight into several of the Group’s companies. Among others, RHIEM Packaging & Print GmbH with the development and production of sustainable packaging, the multichannel fulfillment of RHIEM Services GmbH, the webshop programming of RHIEM Intermedia GmbH and CAPREO GmbH as a distributor of South African premium wines were presented. It became clear how much the group of companies has changed over the past decades.

The dynamic nature of the Group was particularly well received in the exchange on site: the ability to constantly adapt to changing markets, build up new business areas and consistently develop existing expertise.

“We were very pleased about the visit and the interest in our location in Voerde,” says Dr. Stefan Rhiem. “The fact that our development over many years has been recognized in this way is a nice confirmation for us and at the same time a clear incentive for the next steps.”

For the RHIEM Group, the Voerde site is much more than just a production and administration location. It is the center where local and international activities converge. This combination of regional roots and entrepreneurial development has characterized the company for many years. “We are at home in the Lower Rhine region and at the same time active in many markets,” says Dr. Stefan Rhiem. “It is precisely this mix that makes us special: committed colleagues, pragmatic action and the will to develop things further. This is also an exciting environment for new employees.”

For the RHIEM Group, the Minister’s visit was therefore not only an important exchange about business and SMEs, but also a positive signal for the Voerde location and for the people who help shape it with their work every day.
