About us

From climate neutrality to reverse logistics – our sustainability strategy is paying off

“Environmental protection is environmental protection” – Richard von Weizsäcker already knew this. Sustainable action is a fundamentally important building block that should be seen as a permanent process rather than a snapshot in time. RHIEM Services embraced this process at an early stage and consistently embarked on the path to conscious and sustainable action. We are aware of our responsibility as a logistics company, so we have already achieved a number of sustainability milestones and will continue to drive this development forward in the future.

On the way to climate-neutral logistics

We already generate over half of our energy requirements from renewable sources – and we do this ourselves. Photovoltaics on the hall roofs provide clean and sustainably produced electricity for our logistics.

Plastic-free shipping

We have made it our mission to completely dispense with plastic and plastic-like products in logistics – wherever technically and functionally possible. Both our consumables and our parcel tape are made from renewable or recyclable raw materials.

Reverse Logistics

We try to reduce disposal and food waste to a minimum by defining returns processes together with our customers as part of reverse logistics that exclude destruction as far as possible. For this reason, we define very individual returns guidelines based on elements such as repairs, refurbishment, resale and recycling.

Filling material with maximum recycled content

We source our shipping cartons and our filling material for parcels and pallets with a maximum recycled content and ensure the lowest possible consumption of resources in the interests of a functioning circular economy.

IFS certification

The sustainability of supply chains is a key factor in our daily activities and is also confirmed to us annually by our IFS certification. IFS certification is accepted and required by all renowned retailers and wholesalers, food service providers and other companies as proof of compliance with the principle of sustainability in supply chains.

Electric and hybrid company fleet

We have completely converted our company fleet to electric or hybrid drives in order to make a contribution to climate protection in our day-to-day business outside of logistics. We also try to reduce travel to a necessary minimum and use environmentally friendly travel options where possible.
